Enrofloxacin is also known as ethyl ciprofloxacin. It is a yellowish or light yellow crystalline powder with bitter taste and insoluble in water.

Enrofloxacin is a third-generation fluoroquinolone broad-spectrum antibacterial drug, which has entered the Chinese animal husbandry veterinary market for nearly forty years, and it is one of the first foreign drug preparations introduced in China and used exclusively by animals. It is rapidly and completely absorbed orally, reaching peak blood level in half an hour at the earliest; the blood concentration of almost all tissues except the central nervous system is higher than that of plasma; therefore, its excellent characteristics make it especially suitable for the treatment of systemic and bacterial infections.

Clinical Applications

1、Pig respiratory disease and digestive tract disease

Pig respiratory diseases and intestinal diseases piglets often have cough and diarrhea after weaning, mostly caused by diseases such as parvovirus and infectious pleuropneumonia, and enrofloxacin has a strong killing effect on these germs. Specific program: add 10% enrofloxacin 1kg per ton of feed after piglets are weaned and use it for 7 days. If pig farms have a history of circulating or other viral diseases, it can be used in combination with Astragalus, Fuzheng detoxification san or Qingfei deficiency san.

2、Disease caused by Streptococcus and Haemophilus parvum

Arthrogryposis or septicemia caused by Streptococcus and Haemophilus can be treated with enrofloxacin injection, amoxicillin + anaphylatoxin injection once a day for 3 days.

3、Pig asthma

Add 10% enrofloxacin 1kg and 10% doxycycline hydrochloride 1kg per ton of feed for 7 to 10 days, which has good effect.

4、Preventing infectious pleuropneumonia and swine pneumonia in fattening pigs

It can be used to prevent infectious pleuropneumonia and swine pneumonia in fattening pigs. 10% enrofloxacin 1kg and 10% florfenicol 1kg are added in each ton of feed for 7 days.

5、Treatment of sow uterine inflammation

Add 10% enrofloxacin and 10% Daguan-Lincosamides 1kg per ton of feed for the prevention and treatment of uterine infection in sows; inject enrofloxacin 2.5mg per kg of body weight intramuscularly.

6、Treatment of pig exudative dermatitis

Available 0.1% potassium permanganate water (warm water) or 3% hydrogen peroxide, clean the scabs and exudates of sick pigs, and apply the mixture of waste machine oil and penicillin after cleaning, once a day for 2 to 3 times. Inject 10% enrofloxacin injection + ceftiofur for injection intramuscularly, once a day for 2 to 3 times.
