Sulfamethoxazole belongs to the sulfonamide class of antibacterial drugs and is a broad-spectrum antibacterial drug. At present, the veterinary drug preparations used in the breeding industry include sulfamethoxine tablets, compound sulfamethoxine tablets, compound sulfamethoxine sodium injection, sulfamethoxine tablets, and sulfamethoxine sodium injection. Among them, the most commonly used is Sulfamethoxazole Sodium Injection.

The withdrawal period of this class of drugs is 28 days, and the milk abandonment period is 7 days. Livestock and poultry with impaired renal function or allergic reactions should not be used.

It should be noted that long-term use can reduce the synthesis and absorption of vitamin B and vitamin K by pigs. In this case, pig farmers should increase the amount of corresponding vitamins in the feed.

Sulfamonomethoxine tablets are used to treat sensitive bacterial infections in livestock and poultry, and can also be used for infections such as Toxoplasma gondii and Leukocytosis in chickens. However, it cannot be used in large doses for a long time, and the use time should not exceed 5 days. At the same time, it is best to add the same amount of baking soda to mix together.

It should be noted that sulfamethoxazole sodium cannot be used together with monensin, and there will be certain side effects.
