Cefquinome Sulfate is one of the cephalosporins. The sensitivity of cephalosporins is classified in descending order: first generation, second generation, third generation and fourth generation. At present, the most sensitive ones have been developed to the fourth generation. Cefquinoxime sulfate belongs to the fourth generation of cephalosporins, and it is the only one for animals, which is the most sensitive antimicrobial agent among all antimicrobials.

Cefquinoxime sulfate is mainly used for respiratory infections in pigs and cattle caused by sensitive bacteria. It has strong antibacterial activity, and it has excellent killing effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacteriaceae (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Citrobacter, Serratia marcescens), and it also has good killing effect on many methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus and Enterobacter.
